Bree Crossroads Update
You know when you're at a buffet and you keep going back for more plates to get something else...
Alright folks! Just wanted to give you a bit of an update on what I’ve been building recently, as well as what I’m working on currently, and what’s coming next.
Recently completed works
After a lot of feedback, troubleshooting, a few mishaps that wiped out half my work, and more than a couple of late nights, I’ve finally built out two public calendars for the Bree Crossroads Hub Discord Server (please note that these are only available to folks on the Discord):
Tolkien Events Calendar
A curated calendar of Tolkien / Middle-earth community events. This focuses on community-run events and gatherings across the fandom, but does not currently include larger general conventions (like Fan Expo or Comic Cons) or broader industry conferences. (If you’re looking for a more expansive master list (including cons, book releases, etc.), this is still the best resource: https://www.tolkienguide.com/events/.)You can access events directly in Discord via the Events tab, or the calendar icon in the app.
Options for following along:
• Google Calendar sync or .ics download (to add to your own calendar app)
• Individual Discord event notifications (pick and choose what you want to add)
• Full event logs in the events channel for browsing updates and listingsTolkien Book Clubs & Read-alongs Calendar
A separate calendar tracking Tolkien/Middle-earth book clubs and community read-alongs happening across the fandom. Same setup as above—easy viewing in Discord via the Events tab, plus Google Calendar and .ics options if you want everything automatically added to your personal calendar, as well as individual Discord event notifications to add to your calendar or choose for notifications.
What I’m working on currently
Alongside the calendars, I’ve also been working on:
Building (and now growing) a Tolkien/K-pop intersectional interest server
Writing a detailed Substack guide series to major Tolkien community events (starting with Westmoot and Mythmoot)
Developing a Tolkien & Middle-earth Artist Exhibition (single-day online event format)
Laying the groundwork for a larger independent Tolkien Community conference concept
Preparing an upcoming read-along and an upcoming watch-along on Substack (stay tuned—the announcement for both are coming this week!)

If you want to support what I’m building
At the heart of all of this is a simple goal: helping people discover the incredible breadth of Tolkien fandom and making it easier to connect with the people, events, creators, and communities that make this corner of the world so special.
If you’d like to support any of these projects, the best ways are to join in, share them with others, participate in events, subscribe to the Substack, and support my work directly if you’re able. Every bit of support helps me keep building resources, events, and spaces for the community.
There’s a lot more coming.
Subscribe or support via my Substack (this directly supports the writing and guides)
Share with others! Sharing other minds and hands is such a help to get what folks are doing in the Tolkien community out there.

Help promote projects like the artist exhibition and read-alongs/watch-alongs as they’re announced.
Before I sign off, I want to say thank you. To quote Leslie Knope (my inspiration in taking on way too much),
“It’s a lesson I have learned over and over again, but it bears repeating: no one achieves anything alone.”
Whether you’ve been here from the beginning and inspired me in doing it in the first place or have only recently found your way here, thank you. The calendars, guides, events, exhibitions, read-alongs, and future projects are only possible because of the enthusiasm, generosity, and support of this community. Your encouragement keeps me inspired through the late nights, technical mishaps, and ambitious ideas that somehow keep multiplying.
I am grateful for every one of you, and I can’t wait to see where the road takes us next.

Look at you go! I’m so proud of you!
